"Genesis Redux"
In the beginning the empty sky was witness to pain but I no longer believe in myths. I believe in the gun nestled snug in a dresser drawer, next to a bra. I believe in the clip wrapped in a handkerchief, hidden in the back of a closet, behind a pair of shoes. It’s been far too long since words made sense and the pool room logic in the air is nowhere near the truth. I believe a shot glass is large enough to hold the future-- I don’t believe in dead men or doors that lead to open roads. I no longer believe in myths.
